Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't updated this in awhile... Nothing really exciting has happened here in the last few months... We've been having a good time this summer as you can see. We took this pic on the way out to Farnam for the 1st annual Klein family reunion over Memorial Day weekend. The kids had fun playing with their cousins, but the car ride does get long. Madison said "Gosh, we've been in the car for 50 HOURS!!!"

I went out to the Miss Nebraska pageant in June. I've been helping with Crete's local pageant over the past year, and we all went to support "our girl." While there, I ran into Brianna Carlini, the flower girl from our wedding 7 years ago. She's grown up quite a bit. If you all remember, I was very close with their family. They were my host family when I competed at Miss Nebraska. Tragically, Brianna's mom Verna died about 6 1/2 years ago, and I haven't been in touch with them very well. Brianna went to the pageant with her aunt & grandma, who I do keep in loose touch with. It was great to see her again. She's about to turn 14 years old next week!!

Madison & Evan found a new favorite snack, watermelon!! I took this as they sat on the porch of their playhouse pigging out. How cute is that?

Ava had her first birthday on June 24th. It was a great celebration of a true miracle. It was a little emotional. Needless to say, she really is doing well. She's very happy most of the time, and loves playing with her cousins. She fell asleep before the cake, but we took her picture asleep by the cake anyway. It was a great time.

Abby is now 26 weeks pregnant with their second baby. She's already made it farther than last time, but not without complications. She was in the hospital this week with a placental abruption. The baby is OK, and she hasn't had anymore problems, but the potential does exist. It could cause hemorrhage and could be life-threatening for them both if a bigger one happens. She is now on "take-it-easy" status, she has to stay home and seated or lying down except to eat, shower, etc... If you all can find it in you to fire up the prayer chain again, we would all appreciate it. Abby's goal is to make it at least to 34 weeks. We would all love that.

The good news is that this one is definitely a boy.

As you can see, Evan enjoyed the food at Ty & Jessi's house this Sunday. There was, of course, a lot of dessert. Evan ate 3 hot dogs, part of a brat, and at least 4 pieces of peanut thin. He liked the fireworks, and wasn't scared.

Madison also had fun this weekend. Here she's doing 2 of the about 50 sparklers she did at Jessi's house.

Here are the docs' kids in town. Isaac Ebke, Madison, Ellie Warnes, and Natasha Ebke. Jennifer Ebke wasn't there, and I think Evan was playing in the sandbox.

Here's Ellie Warnes. Madison's been having so much fun playing with her these past 2 weeks. They just moved in next door to us. She'll be 3 next month. Her dad is our new partner at the clinic, and her mom is finishing her work as a child psychologist and will be working part time at our clinic. They're expecting a new baby anytime now.

And, as you can see, the past week's events have taken quite a toll on Evan. This was the scene at the dinner table last night. One minute, eating, the next, asleep at 6:30.

See you all soon, take care.

Love, the Hills
